Denny & Jaclyn Evans

Owners, Denny & Jaclyn Evans began Tunnel Hill Winery in 2004 and are both actively involved with its day to day operation. Denny has spent his entire life living and farming in North Central Washington and got his start growing up farming pears in Leavenworth, WA. He began farming apples in Chelan in 1969 and shortly after started a roadside fruit stand to bring his orchard fresh fruit directly to the customers, creating the Sunshine Farm Market. Denny has transferred his know-how and perfectionism to the diligent management of our Estate vineyards and has been raising award-winning fruit for over 50 years on the south shore of Lake Chelan.

Michelle Fanton

Winemaker and Manager, Michelle Fanton joined Tunnel Hill Winery in 2011. Originally from Seattle, she is a graduate of Cornell University and spent 11 years studying and making wine on the east coast and in New York’s world-famous Finger Lakes region. In the over 10 years she has been at Tunnel Hill she has received numerous awards and recognition for the wines she has produced from our Estate grapes. Michelle believes that wines should be welcoming to everyone and that a winemaker’s job is to showcase the fruit, not dominate it.
